Chateau de Cayx AOP Malbec - 2016 is an award winning wine from Château de Cayx (The Prince of Denmark's Winery & Residence of the Danish Royal Family is a great choice!
- Won the Gold Award from Le Concours Général Agricole - Paris in 2018. Initiated in 1843 with the help of Poissy, the Concours Général Agricole was created in 1870 to select and award the best French regional products.
- Won the Gold Award from the CITADELLE DU VIN - 2018 of the Taster's Special Prize for the " Best Malbec of The World". Every year, in March, over 50 top level tasters from all over the world meet in Bourg (Bordeaux-France) for several days to elect the best wines out of over 1,000 samples coming from about 30 countries.

Appellation d’Origine Protégée (AOP) - This wine comes from a 7 hectares of vines with an average vine age of 35 years old.

Vinification
Following green harvesting, the leaves are manually removed from the grapes and the berries are selected on the sorting table. The grapes are mechanically harvested and firstly sorted by the machinery before being sorted manually for the second time on the table in the cellar. Château de Cayx undergoes cold (8°C) pre-fermentation-controlled stainless steel tanks. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration take 28 days at a temperature of 26/280 C, while final maceration occurs at a temperature of 32/35°C. Malolactic fermentation and ageing take place in new barrels for 1/3 for a minimum of 12 months.
Cigarelle Chardonnay - 2017 : Cahors wine-growing regions. A local wine from Cayx, La Cigaralle comes from the 4 hectares of Chardonnay planted, mostly on the limestone terraces around the château. "Cigaralle" is an old word probably from Catalan and used in Aquitaine and Occitanie to describe a pavilion built in a park or a pleasure garden where you can hear the song of cicadas. The grapes undergo mechanical harvesting, direct pressing, cold settling, thermo-regulated fermentation in stainless steel vats and aging on the lees.

The grapes are mechanically harvested, directly pressed, cold-settled, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and matured on lees.
Tasting Notes
This wine has a complex and expressive nose with exotic fruit and white fruits notes. It is ample, smooth and slightly buttery on the palate with a delicious mineral base supported on the palate with a delicious mineral base supported by real freshness.
